Filmmaking
Like stand-up and writing, filmmaking has become a very fulfilling creative outlet. If I’m not getting cast elsewhere, I cast myself — and it allows me to say what I want to say.
I am somewhere in the middle of the process of learning how to make films. Not a beginner, but I don’t pretend to be an expert either. It is a fun, exciting place to be.
From writing the screenplays to final edits, I create small, very doable projects that allow for improvement with each one.
Exercise in Futility is a series of short films that are based on jokes from my stand-up.
It follows the exploits of Gus Vestibule, a lovable waver who finds himself in many peculiar circumstances.
Here’s the intro. Look for it soon on YouTube!

Filmmaking Experiments
These here things below are projects I shot on this here iPhone while learning the craft of filmy-makey.
Editing, lighting, and audio turned out to be fun puzzles. What piece fits best where?
Enjoy!
I Feel Like a Salad
This was my first big blockbuster. It debuted in my parents’ laptop and had nearly 17 views. After noticing how different foods made me feel different ways, I wanted to communicate the dangers of mixing eggplant with tomato.
Thanks to Salad, I was presented the prestigious “Filmmaker Who Needs The Most Improvement” Trophy at the Figment of My Imagination Awards last year.
The Path of Least Persistence
This heartfelt epic tells the story of an indolent naysayer refusing to address society’s most important question - how do I move on?
I showed it at several local film festivals, but apparently none of them accepted sidewalk projections on a brick wall. Their loss.
Nonsensical Foot Tour Playtime Movie
For this cinematic giant, I used the Filmic Pro App with my iPhone and played around with some minor special effects in editing.
I really wanted to capture the inner child of these feet. When they were late to set one day, instead of berating them, I bought them each their own slipper and a piece of cheese. Then they pulled out this whopping performance. Pretty proud of that directorial choice.
